Willem, Delta Upsilon Chapter Adviser at Butler University, had her book Adapting Spanish Classics for the New Millennium: The Nineteenth-Century Novel Remediated published with Palgrave Macmillan in 2022. Also in 2022, she received the Galdosiana de Honor, awarded by the Casa-Museo Pérez Galdós and the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.
