Miriam Burt, founding member of Sigma Delta Pi.
Sigma Delta Pi is pleased to announce that May 1 will henceforth be known as “Día de Sigma Delta Pi”/“Sigma Delta Pi Day” to commemorate the anniversary of the Society’s first formal induction ceremony on May 1, 1920 at founding member Miriam Burt’s home on 1629 Walnut Street in Berkeley, CA. This coming May 1, 2020 marks the centennial of the Society’s first initiation ceremony, and chapters are encouraged to recognize our first national “Día de Sigma Delta Pi” with appropriate events that might include the induction of new members, among other activities.

A replica will be issued to all new members initiated in spring 2020
to commemorate the Society’s first induction ceremony on May 1, 1920.
Entre Nosotros, the Society’s official annual, will now follow a modified submissions and publication schedule to align better with the academic year calendar of chapter activities. Beginning this year, issues of the journal will be published in late summer, and the deadline for submitting chapter “reseñas” and photos for possible consideration will now be May 15. Therefore, all chapters have until May 15, 2020 to submit material (in Spanish) for possible publication in our summer 2020 issue of Entre Nosotros.
