October 2 marks National Poetry Day in the United States, and we are celebrating by reuniting with the distinguished Latin American poets who participated in the Sigma Delta Pi/AATSP poetry plenary at our 107th Conference in Panama.
To mark the occasion, each poet has shared a poem along with classroom-ready activities—access them here. The week will culminate in a live panel discussion on Thursday, October 2 at 4:00 PM ET, moderated by Professor Mark P. Del Mastro, Executive Committee Member of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society.
We invite all poets, future poets, poetry lovers—and especially students—to join us for a dynamic Q&A with the poets about their work and the role of poetry in language education.
