Sigma Delta Pi chapter delegates (advisers, student officers and members), Executive Council Members and Honorary Presidents are cordially invited to our first centennial celebration event of 2019 on Friday, April 12:
Sigma Delta Pi’s 17th annual Informative Session
Sigma Delta Pi’s 2nd Annual Graduate Research Symposium
(featuring presentations by recipients of Sigma Delta Pi’s Graduate Research Grants in 2017)

at the 72nd Kentucky Foreign Language Conference, April 11-13, 2019
at the University of Kentucky.

On Friday evening, April 12 at 6:30pm, Sigma Delta Pi will feature a reception for our attendees and special at the Hyatt Regency Lexington (401 East High Street).

Today, January 1, 2019, Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society,
begins its centennial commemoration of its founding on November 14, 1919
by a junior undergraduate student named Ruth Helen Barnes:

This celebration will continue through June 30, 2020
to recognize the centennial of the first official induction ceremony of new members held on May 1, 1920 in Berkeley, CA.

During the next 18-months, we will recognize our Society’s 100-years through numerous initiatives, meetings and projects detailed on our new centennial webpage:

2019 Marks Sigma Delta Pi’s Centennial and the 80th Anniversary of _Entre Nosotros_: Don’t Miss Your Contribution!

Not only will Sigma Delta Pi celebrate its centennial (1919-2019) starting on January 1, but the spring 2019 issue of Entre Nosotros will represent the 80th year of its publication (1939-2019). We encourage our chapters and members to submit their news (in Spanish) and photos for possible inclusion by January 25, 2019.  We have extended the submission deadline to ensure your collaboration in this historic issue of our annual.
